PROVISION OF HEALTH SUPPLIES FOR EXISTING HOSPITALS.
It is said that “a sound mind must dwell in a sound body” and for our projects to achieve desired outcomes, it is important to take care of the medical needs these rural poor. Most rural poor in Africa die of preventable diseases, blaming such sicknesses to witchcraft or ancestral curses. Sickness such as elephantiasis, malaria, onchocerciasis and even worm infestation are all blamed on things rather than its real course, so our medical team not only treat them but also give health education on the need for a clean environment and clean water bodies.
ROAM’S medical teams volunteer their time and resources for free to undertake these activities, and as the numbers are increasing, there is the need on donor support for the projects, while we are strategizing for long-term sustainability.
